Tesla has begun the rollout of FSD Supervised Version 14.1 – arguably the most extensive update to the system in almost a year.
The new version brings numerous innovations, ensures a much smoother and safer driving experience, offers personalized driving profiles and, for the first time, enables robotataxi-like drop-off points, where the vehicle lets passengers get off precisely at the desired location.

Tesla FSD 14.1 is here
Many owners of Model 3, Y and Co. have been eagerly awaiting the jump to FSD version 14. The new model, which uses over ten times more parameters than its predecessor, promises significant advances in handling and safety. Elon Musk himself even described the software as "sentient" – i.e. almost consciously.
After a short-term bug delayed the launch by another week, the time has finally come: Tesla has been rolling out the update to the fleet since Tuesday morning. You can read about the innovations it brings here.
Vision meets navigation
With FSD 14.1, Tesla integrates navigation directly into the neural network of its vision system. This means that the car no longer only understands its surroundings visually, but also makes navigation decisions in real time.
If roads are blocked or construction sites appear, the system now reacts independently and finds alternative routes – without any GPS-based detours. The detection of emergency vehicles has also been improved: Tesla vehicles will automatically stop or swerve when the police, fire brigade or emergency services approach.
Robotaxi-Style: Arrival as desired
One of the most exciting new features is the "Arrival Options" function. Drivers can now determine where the vehicle should stop – whether at the curb, in the driveway, on the street or in the parking garage. For the first time, Tesla simulates the behavior of a robotaxis that drops passengers precisely at their destination:
Also new: an automatic camera cleaning function that keeps the sensors' field of view clear – another step towards autonomous operation without human intervention.
More control with new driving profiles
Tesla is also expanding the range of driving styles. In addition to the well-known "Chill" mode, there is now also "Sloth" (German: sloth) – an even more careful profile for particularly smooth driving. Drivers can now save their preferred parking and arrival options per destination, while the system remains capable of learning and making recommendations depending on the situation:
Elon Musk himself called FSD 14 "10 times more powerful" than the previous versions and said it felt "almost conscious". Although the version remains "supervised", i.e. with driver monitoring, the direction is clear: The carmaker is serious about taking the step towards fully autonomous driving.
Tesla's path to autonomous everyday life
In addition to the increased intelligence, the company also promises more reliability. The system should be able to detect errors itself and recover automatically in the event of a problem – a decisive factor for future safety in autonomous traffic.
Version 14.1 thus marks not only a feature update, but also a milestone on the way to robotaxi operation, which Tesla is already testing in Austin and California.
